1. General information
In this subject the student starts at level A1 and reaches level A2 of the CEFR. The subject is based on face-to-face classes (presentations and theoretical-practical explanations of the phonetic-phonological, lexical-grammatical and discursive aspects of the Italian language. Students will work on oral comprehension, oral production, written comprehension and written production from written, oral and audiovisual materials.
These approaches are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/ ), specifically, the learning activities planned in this subject will contribute to the achievement of Goals 4, 5, 10, 16 and 17.
2. Learning results
- Communicate orally and in writing at a simple level in Italian.
- Capture the main idea of simple texts in their field of specialization written in Italian.
- Understand oral and written texts at a basic level in Italian.
- Synthesize, transfer and exchange basic written and oral information in Italian.
- Write in Italian a variety of elementary texts in their field of specialization.
3. Syllabus
Block 1. Grammar contents: passato prossimo; imperfect indicative; simple future; partitive; pronouns (personal, OD, OI, reflexive).
Block 2. Lexical content: stores; clothes; the human body; colors; weather; animals; leisure and sports.
Block 3. Communicative content: meeting someone; finding one's way around the city; describing people, things or situations; talking about the past; making plans for the future.
Block 4. Cultural contents: geography, festivals, music, cinema and literature.
4. Academic activities
- Theoretical sessions: The phonetic-phonological, lexical-grammatical and discursive aspects will be explained and clarified using materials in Moodle.
- Practical sessions in the classroom: The skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) will be worked on through activities grammatical and lexical, oral and written comprehension, and oral and written production.
- Individual tutorials and group seminars: Questions on and preparation of supervised and autonomous activities.
- Projection and viewing of audiovisual material.
- Completion of the obligatory final work: Production of three written compositions on the topics covered.
5. Assessment system
The expected learning outcomes will be measured by the following assessment activities:
Continuous assessment system (first call)
* Written test: grammar and vocabulary exercises and written and oral comprehension and production (60%). It is graded out of 100 points and is passed with a minimum of 65/100. The following will be assessed: spelling, grammatical, lexical and discursive correctness. * Oral test: a monologue and a dialogue between two classmates (30%). It is rated out of 10 points and is approved with a minimum of 5, . Correctness, fluency, lexical proficiency, coherence and interactionwill be assessed.
* Work: elaboration of 3 written compositions (10%). The grade is added if tests 1 and 2 are passed. See will value: correctness (spelling, grammar and syntax), lexical proficiency, coherence and interaction.
Global assessment system (first and second call)

The following will be assessed: spelling, grammatical, lexical and discursive correctness. * Oral test: a monologue and a dialogue between two classmates (30%).
